Auditions

Meet the famous band of pirates who will take you swinging and dancing through a jazz adaptation of Gilbert and Sullivan’s beloved Pirates of Penzance. More rousing songs, swinging gals and pirate dances than you can wave a cutlass at. This is a humorous tale of poor Frederick who, due to an unfortunate error, was made an apprentice pirate instead of a pilot. Having only seen one female, his old nursemaid Ruth, he is betrothed to her and unaware of the young beauties yet to be discovered. That is, until he arrives on dry land when released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates on his 21st birthday. He meets Mabel and her sisters, the daughters of Major-General Stanley. The two young people fall instantly in love. Pirate issues come back to haunt them and they call on a rather ineffectual group of police to help capture them.

Auditions are 7.30pm Tuesday 11 and Thursday 13 July at the Wiltshire Music Centre.

Rehearsals will be Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Autumn 2017

It can now be revealed that our Autumn production will be ‘Pirates of Men’s Pants’. This is a jazz adaptation by Felicity Courage of Gilbert and Sullivan’s popular musical ‘Pirates of Penzance’. More rousing songs, swinging gals and pirate dances than you can wave a cutlass at. This is a humorous tale of poor Frederick, who is an apprentice pirate instead of a pilot. Having only seen one female, his old nursemaid Ruth, he is betrothed to her and unaware of the young beauties yet to be discovered. That is, until he arrives on dry land on his 21st birthday… We need equal numbers of men and women to audition for this musical, so if you love singing, dancing or comedy, pop it in your diary!
